FLOOR SCRUBBER & SWEEPER BRUSHES

THE BUYER’S NOTEBOOK

Disc Brushes vs. Cylindrical Brushes

Understand the difference in brush format and which details matter when identifying a replacement.

Two formats, different machine systems

A disc brush has a circular cleaning face. A cylindrical brush has bristles arranged around an elongated roller. The correct format is determined by the machine’s brush system; these formats should not be treated as interchangeable accessories.

What to check for a disc brush

Confirm the outside diameter, mounting interface, fixing arrangement and any specified rotation information. Photograph the top of the brush and the underside. Similar-looking hubs can have different drive connections.

What to check for a cylindrical brush

Confirm the overall length and diameter, both end fittings and the shaft or drive details. Note whether the machine uses a set of brushes with different positions or specified orientation. Do not assume that two rollers of the same length have the same interface.

Do not select by shape alone

The floor finish, intended cleaning task, bristle material and machine guidance all matter. A brush shape does not by itself establish cleaning performance or suitability for a floor. Assess the actual specification rather than a general product image.

Prepare a clear comparison

Place photos of the old and proposed brushes beside labeled dimensions and mounting details. Resolve differences before placing an order. If the machine format or brush orientation is uncertain, send the nameplate and installation photos.
